🛡️ What Type of Insurance Do I Need as a NimbusRX Client?

If you're using NimbusRX to operate your telehealth or direct-to-consumer (DTC) health brand, it’s important to carry the right insurance to protect your business. Even though you are using external providers, external compounding pharmacies, and the NimbusRX platform, you are still considered a healthcare business in the eyes of regulators and insurers.

Below is a breakdown of the common insurance policies we recommend.

✅ 1. General Liability Insurance

Purpose: Covers common business risks like property damage, physical injury, or accidents.
Recommended for: Any business with a physical office or presence (even part-time or shared).

✅ 2. Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) Insurance

Purpose: Covers you if someone claims your business made a mistake, gave incorrect advice, or failed to deliver services properly.
Why it matters: Even if you’re not the prescribing provider or pharmacy, you may still be liable if your coordination or platform use results in harm.

✅ 3. Cyber Liability Insurance

Purpose: Protects against data breaches, HIPAA violations, and cyberattacks.
Recommended for: All NimbusRX clients handling sensitive patient information or storing data digitally.
Note: You’re responsible for protecting your own business’s access points, marketing sites, emails, and devices.

✅ 4. Business Owner’s Policy (BOP)

Purpose: A bundled policy that includes General Liability + Property Insurance.
Recommended for: Cost-effective protection if you have office equipment, computers, or a physical location.

✅ 5. Product Liability Insurance

Purpose: Protects you in case a product you sell causes harm—especially relevant for branded supplements or wellness products.
Recommended for: Clients who sell white-labeled or custom-labeled supplements, test kits, or OTC products.

✅ 6. Directors & Officers (D&O) Insurance

Purpose: Protects your leadership team from lawsuits related to decisions, company mismanagement, or fiduciary duty breaches.
Recommended for: Funded startups, businesses with investors, or any company with a board of directors.
